SE Cockpit Keywords #1 & #2 For Free!

Hello Everyone!

I’m so glad you made it inside this password protected post! That means you are on my list and actually reading what I have to say and for that here is your gift!

I know I said I’m going to give away 1 keyword, but as this is my first post I want to double that and give away 2 keywords that I found in SE Cockpit using the methods I outlined on this post!

Now some disclaimers about the keywords.

#1.  Since this post will be sent out to everyone on my list, only the quickest to act will actually be able to register the domain.  I cannot and DO NOT guarantee that you will be able to snatch up the EMD domain for that reason.

#2.  Competition.  Once again, since I am sending these keywords to so many people, it’s likely that many will grab the .com, .net, and .org versions or even the .info versions and head into direct competition with you.  I cannot stop that!  So you have to be aware of it.

#3.  I in NO WAY guarantee that you will rank in Google, Yahoo, Bing or any other search engine if you decide to go after these keywords.  There are many other factors, than keyword selection, that attribute to successfully ranking a website in the top of the search engines.

#4.  Because I am giving you the keyword, I will be reporting my findings on what it is that you do with that keyword.  I will have the domain names obviously, and I will be checking in and reporting to my list what you have done.  If you aren’t ok with that, then DO NOT get the keyword and try to build a domain name.

#5.  I WILL help you (with advice, not work) to build the website, provided you purchase any necessary tools through my affiliate links located on my resource page.  I will give you my time, but I just ask that you purchase any tools needed anyways through my affiliate links so that I get something in return!  Should you choose not to purchase anything through me, I may not be as willing to help!  So no guarantees there either!

Ok, now that those are out of the way!  Here are your first two keywords, which happen to target both the men and women population which makes these ones extra interesting!

#1 Keyword:  bmi chart for men
Niche: Weight Loss.
Domain Availability: net & .org
Global Exact Match Searches Per Month: 4400
Google Competition: Low
Google Phrase Match Results: 119,000
Google CPC: $0.74

#2 Keyword:  bmi chart for women
Niche: Weight Loss.
Domain Availability: net & .org
Global Exact Match Searches Per Month: 9900
Google Competition: Low
Google Phrase Match Results: 137,000
Google CPC: $0.78
Market Samurai Screenshot For BMI CHART FOR MEN

As you can see, the .com version of this domain reached #7 on Google just by doing it’s On Page Optimization Correctly, and having only 5 backlinks!  Further, I have looked at the link profile from Majestic SEO and here’s what it shows;

As you can see from this, the link came from one site, but from 5 different places on that site.  Digging a little deeper, I found that the PR of the only backlink is a 0.

Therefore, based on this information, I believe this keyword to be very easy to rank on Page 1, simply by doing the proper On Page SEO!  Further, since the competition analysis for BMI CHART FOR WOMEN is very much the same, I extend my belief that that keyword is just as easy to rank for!

So….there are your first two keywords, with 4 domains available!  Will you go after it now, or watch as someone else builds it?

I’ll release another keyword in the next month!
If you would prefer NOT to wait for me to give you keywords to compete with everyone else, please visit this page to see exactly how I find these keywods!

Please leave any comments below, I will answer them there so everyone can see and share in this knowledge!!

Update:  May 10, 2013

Well all four domain names have been scooped up by one single person, as he didn’t want competition, so congrats Kevin!

I have now unlocked this post, and it is open for public viewing!

So far from what I have seen, Kevin has already put up a bare minimum site for bmichartformen.net and the others have nothing yet.  Nothing indexed in Google yet either!

Kevin, if you want to share your plans, that would be great!

  • Kevin says:

Herc – thanks for the keywords and analysis! I just reviewed your findings and agree this was a solid find. I just registered all 4 domains. Sorry guys, I didn’t want any competition!

  • HercMagnus says:

Nice! Well I’m looking very forward to seeing what you are able to do with them! As I mentioned, I will be checking in!

So I hope you don’t mind me asking quesitons and what not later on in the build process!

If you want any advice, feel free to post comments here as well and I will answer them publicly!

  • owen cooper says:

It will be interesting to see how you do I agree the keywords should be easy to rank for but are they really buyer keywords? I will be looking to see what sort of money you make that’s the acid test not ranking number one.

  • HercMagnus says:

Yes it’s much more of a side door keyword. People looking at their Body Mass Index ‘could be’ looking to lose weight. So related CPA offers, email list building and affilate product offers would be my choice!

I’d also build a nifty little BMI Calculater for like $20 from Freelancer or something, so that people want to link to it!

Should be an interesting one to watch!

  • Trey says:

How do you analyze ?can you give steps or guidelines you check when analyzing these keywords? somethin’ minimum like 5k exact match . thanks

  • Kevin says:

    Hi Herc/everyone,

Sorry for not checking back in for such a while but here is an update.

First, a little background on myself. I’m a 44 year old IT consultant (architect and project manager) of infrastructure server systems (from Toronto) and while I can build a farm of web servers I did not have the slightest clue of how SEO and Google really works or even what WordPress was 2 months ago. I’ve learned a lot these past 8 weeks but the more I learn the more I realize how little I know and that certainly, whatever the Google formula is, it was eluding me. I was anxious to jump on Herc’s keyword research as I am a newbie to SEO and while I’m starting to understand the basics I thought it a good idea to start my first website with an EMD that was vetted by someone with much more experience than myself.

Anyway, as you can see I’ve gotten the one domain (http://bmichartformen.net) up and running with 7 pages of borrowed and re-written content including, of course a BMI Chart but also a BMI calculator (free widget I found) and have multiple posts that I pull-in from ezinemark.com (I haven’t written any myself).

I was on page 3 of Google for a few weeks and then dropped off the map. I’m not sandboxed according to a website I used to check this but I’m apparently not registering in the top 100 for the keyword ‘bmi chart for men’.

I’ve monetized the site using both Adsense and Clickbank weight loss and weight gain products but haven’t made a sale yet.

Being a newbie I wanted some help with on-page optimization so bought a plug-in called Easy WP SEO which has been very helpful (every page has internal links and external links to the likes of Wikipedia, YouTube, bolded keywords etc). I think I’ve done a decent job with on-page optimization. I’m also using the All In One Theme from the guys over at BTF which has the EzineMark post feature integrated with it. Other plug-ins I’m using are SEO Friendly Images, SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2, Google XML Sitemaps, All In One SEO Pack, Hupso Share Buttons for Twitter, Facebook & Google+, Pretty Link Pro and IMSC Promote Me Pro (promote pages/posts to social media accounts but it’s not working) and Statcounter to monitor my site performance.

While I haven’t created any videos myself I have embedded one on my site that explains BMI in hopes that Google will appreciate the link to YouTube.

I also went on Fiverr and paid for a backlink pyramid (300 1st layer high PR, 2nd layer 5700 profiles with the 3rd layer consisting of 100,000 profiles for a total of 106,000 backlink pyramid. I haven’t seen any substantial change in traffic as a result though but it has only been 2 weeks (I did verify the back links). I haven’t posted anything to my social media sites yet (couldn’t get Promote Me Pro working) and don’t have any sort of mail list capture system in place either (seems like a lot of work to be sending out emails to your mail list all the time though).

I’m getting about 70 unique pages requests a day which is pretty good but no one is clicking on adsense (780 page views but no clicks) or buying any off the clickbank products (I have 4 weight loss products that rotate via Pretty Link). It appears people are clicking on the affiliate links but do not buy when they get there.

That all said, to your point Owen Cooper, is the problem that this type of site is great for information but these types of people aren’t actually looking to buy anything?

Otherwise, what am I doing wrong? Please, have a look at my site and let me know what you think. I can take it 🙂

What do you guys think I should do with these other domains?

What I would like to do here is be completely open to what I am doing and how, in hopes that we can all share any secrets or insights and benefit us all.

  • Kevin says:

Update: I just did a google search for ‘bmi chart for men’ and low and behold I’m on page 4 (35th position) of about 1,520,000 results . Are there any tools out there that can accurately tell you what position you are in on the search engines? I’ve tried Rankerizer and few web based ones but they all tell a completely conflicting story. That said, Rankerizer says I’m in 32 position so it seems on the mark today. Perhaps the backlinking gig from Fiverr is starting to kick-in (been a few weeks since it was done).

Well, let’s see where it goes from here. I haven’t posted any new content in two weeks so I think I’ll add some posts today.

What’s your thoughts on squeeze pages etc?

Again, any feedback or comments are welcome!

  • Kevin says:

Ok – I’m now bumped off the top 100 of Google. I can’t figure out the yo-yo effect of my site placement. I just had a short article published on a PR5 related site so will see if this helps.

    Any suggestions or recommendations?

  • HercMagnus says:

    Hey Kevin,

What does your backlink profile look like at this point?

How many backlinks do you have?
What is the PR of each backlink?
How many inbound links does each backlink have?

The YO-YO effect is totally normal man. Google is still trying to decide where your site belongs. So backlinks will definitely help them decide!

  • Ron says:

    No more free keywords Herc?

  • HercMagnus says:

I’ll do another one this weekend! I’ve been so busy building sites that I kinda dropped this…I promise to get it back!

  • Kevin says:

According to Majectic I have 324 backlinks, 30 referring domains, Citation Flow of 17 and a Trust Flow of 6.

This month I’ve had over a 1,000 unique visitors (1,500 page loads) but nothing is converting to sales (not clickbank or adsense). Starting to think my home page needs something more to drive them to conversion. Any suggestions?

  • HercMagnus says:

Do you track your outbound clicks? Compare the number of unique visitors to the number of people clicking on your Adsense and Affiliate links. Start there and get some numbers, then test new ideas. I would put a much STRONGER call to action to click on your affiliate links!

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now
each time a comment is added I get several
e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
    Bless you!

  • christian says:

Hello there, i am new to the world of blogging ans SEO. I want to know that if the tactics being taught at BTF fast start guide vidoes is also applicable to get the best keyword for a blog post?

  • HercMagnus says:

If you mean does BTF teach good methods to find fast ranking keywords, then yes. I got a little confused at the end when you said best keyword for a blog post. Are you trying to rank a specific post on your blog?

  • HercMagnus says:

    Hello Mogwai,

I think there is a link where you placed the comment that allows you to remove yourself from reply notifications.
This is a fairly new plugin to me, so I will see what I can find also!

  • Alex says:

Hi Herc, I was wondering if you have any updated posts on your site, I was browsing but could only find post date back in 2013. I am eager to learn from you, as I read your previous post and find them very informative and practical

  • HercMagnus says:

    Hey Alex,
Thanks! I’ve been hard working at SEO learning new methods, but I plan to start writing here again quite a bit.
